FLASH POINT (METHOD): 470 F TAGLIABUE CLOSED UP

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: CARBON DIOXIDE, DRY CHEMICAL, WATER SPRAY.

SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:

SINCE VAPORS ARE EXCEEDINGLY IRRITATING WHEN INHALED, A
SELF-CONTAINED BREATHING APPARATUS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE FOR FIREMEN.

                               SECTION V REACTIVITY DATA

MATERIAL IS STABLE. HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION WILL NOT OCCUR.
CHEMICAL INCOMPATIBILITIES: STRONG OXIDIZERS, ACIDS OR BASES.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:

CARBON MONOXIDE, CARBON DIOXIDE, ALDEHYDES.

CONDITIONS TO AVOID:

EXCESSIVELY LARGE MASSES OF MIXED RESIN AND HARDENER. IF THE
MASS IS OF SUFFICIENT SIZE, THE MATERIAL MAY SELF-IGNITE
(EXOTHERM). THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM DURING NORMAL USAGE
CONDITIONS. CONSULT THE TECHNICAL DATA BULLETIN FOR MORE
INFORMATION. AVOID EXCESSIVE HEAT, MOISTURE CONTAMINATION AND
CROSS-CONTAMINATION OF RESIN AND HARDENER.

                         SECTION VI HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

PRIMARY ENTRY ROUTE(S): SKIN CONTACT, INHALATION.

STATEMENT OF HAZARD:

MAY CAUSE SEVERE EYE IRRITATION. CONTAINS SKIN SENSITIZER.

CHRONIC EFFECT(S):

MAY CAUSE SENSITIZATION. MAY CAUSE DEFATTING OF SKIN LEADING TO
DERMATITIS.

CARCINOGEN LISTINGS BY OSHA, NTP, OR IARC: NO SPECIFIC LISTINGS.

SAFETY DATA SHEET

FIRST AID:

EYE CONTACT: FLUSH WITH LARGE AMOUNTS OF WATER FOR 15 MINUTES.
CONTACT A PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.

SKIN CONTACT:

WASH WITH SOAP AND WATER. WASH CONTAMINATED CLOTHING BEFORE
RE-USE AND DESTROY CONTAMINATED SHOES.

INHALATION:

REMOVE TO FRESH AIR. CONTACT PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY.

INGESTION:

DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. CONTACT PHYSICIAN OR REGIONAL POISON
CONTROL CENTER IMMEDIATELY.

POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS:

EYE CONTACT CAUSES SEVERE IRRITATION AND PAIN. EXCESSIVE
EXPOSURE MAY CAUSE CONJUNCTIVITIS, CORNEAL DAMAGE, AND OTHER
DAMAGE. SKIN CONTACT IS IRRITATING. REPEATED OR PROLONGED
EXPOSURE MAY CAUSE RASH, IRRITATION, POSSIBLE CORROSION, AND MAY
RESULT IN DERMATITIS. SKIN OR EYE CONTACT WITH HEATED MATERIAL
MAY CAUSE THERMAL BURNS, HEATING THIS MATERIAL MAY GENERATE
VAPORS THAT COULD CAUSE HEADACHES, NAUSEA, DIZZINESS AND
RESPIRATORY IRRITATION. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT PARTICULARLY TOXIC
BY INGESTION. SWALLOWING LARGE AMOUNTS OF THIS MATERIAL MAY
RESULT IN IRRITATION TO THE MOUTH AND THROAT, NAUSEA, ABDOMINAL
DISCOMFORT, AND DIARRHEA, MEDICAL CONDITIONS

AGGRAVATED BY OVEREXPOSURE TO THIS PRODUCT INCLUDED ECZEMA, ALLERGY AND
OTHER SKIN CONDITIONS.

SECTION VII SPILL LEAK AND DISPOSAL INFORMATION

SPILL / LEAK PROCEDURES: CONTAIN WITH A SUITABLE DIKING MATERIAL.
VENTILATE AREA THOROUGHLY. KEEP ALL UNNECESSARY PEOPLE AWAY. SPILLED
MATERIAL SHOULD BE ABSORBED IN SAWDUST, SAND OR OTHER ABSORBENT. PLACE
INTO OPEN-TOPPED CONTAINERS AND COVER LOOSELY, STORE FOR AT LEAST 12
HOURS BEFORE SEALING THE CONTAINER.

WASTE MANAGEMENT / DISPOSAL: AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES, SKIN AND CLOTHING.
AVOID BREATHING VAPOR. KEEP THE CONTAINERS CLOSED. KEEP MATERIAL AWAY
FROM HEAT, SPARKS AND OPEN FLAMES. CONTROLLED INCINERATION OR BURIED
LANDFILL DISPOSAL SHOULD BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND
LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS. STORE IN A COOL, WELL VENTILATED AREA IN

                         SECTION X. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION ON COMPONENTS OF THIS PRODUCT ARE AS
FOLLOWS:

MICE RECEIVING SKIN APPLICATIONS FOR TWO YEARS OF AN EPOXY RESIN VERY
SIMILAR TO THE ONE IN THE PRODUCT HAVE YIELDED VERY LIMITED EVIDENCE OF
WEAK CARCINOGENICITY. THE PUBLISHED REPORT ON THIS STUDY CONCLUDED THAT
THE EPOXY RESIN "IS NOT A SYSTEMIC CARCINOGEN WHEN APPLIED TO THE SKIN OF
CF1 MICE" AND THE TUMOR DATA "WAS OF NO BIOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE." BASED ON
ALL AVAILABLE DATA, IARC CONCLUDED IN 1988 THAT THIS CLASS OF EPOXY
RESINS IS NOT CLASSIFIED AS A CARCINOGEN.

THE ALIPHATIC EPOXY RESIN HAS AN ORAL LD50 (RAT) OF 1410 MG/KG AND A
DERMAL LD50 (RABBIT) OF 1100 MG/KG, THE INHALATION LC50 IS >11.3
MG/LITER. ANIMAL STUDIES (GUINEA PIG) HAVE SHOWN THIS RESIN TO BE A SKIN
SENSITIZER.
