When I asked what manual backup there was in the advent of a electrical failure, I was shown to hold the stick against the spring force. There was no manual method to adjust the trim. Try with any aircraft with takeoff setting, fly some distance, and land, and from higher altitude normal cruise, decend and land, possibly with a simulated instrument approach; all this without touching the trim. All aircraft I have ever seen, have manual method of adjusting the trim. DISCUSSION!! Surely , when electric trim is fitted, the manual trim is not removed, I know I would'nt, If the electrics fail, the manual will still operate, although now around a new datum set by the failed electric trim. This has been discussed before. To read about how Todd Morgan used a pit pin to hold the linear actuator trim motor into the manual trim system for easy removal if the trim motor fails or has a runaway, see archives.
