Date: Mon, 29 Dec 1997 08:32:19 -0600 From: Darren DeLoach Subject: COZY: Chap. 5 LWS BID Tape I sent this last week but it was apparently dropped somewhere along the way, so this is a resend: I put LWX and LWY stringers in last week, along with the 1 ply bid tape. Fig 14 shows the tape on boths sides of LWX (the diagonal stringer), apparently bridging over the electrical channel. Later in figs 16-18, it's not apparent that the 1 ply is supposed to cross over the channel, but there's no written documentation either way. Am I supposed to leave the tape crossing over the channel, or should I cut out the tape there? On the aft side where the channel cover goes, I cut it out so that the channel cover would fit correctly. So my question is really about the front side. (Finished the 6 BID layup, the last in Chap 5, yesterday; still got the longeron air bubble repair to do, but next weekend I'll be done with Chapter 5.... whew!) -- Darren DeLoach http://www.deloach.com Chap. 5
