I have extra PVC that I could use. Thanks. The foam inserted area of the firewall is in contact with the center spar then there are non-structural efforts here. The foam is lighter than plywood so we win weight with the firewall cut out. About foam replacement, it is possible to replace the URETHANE by H60 PVC ( chap.14 ( center spar )for example ). The urethane was choosen because it is easier to work than PVC. But we must know that urethane foam is not time resistant. In about 10-15 years this foam become dusty. The density must be the first choice criteria. Often in the COZY construction method, the foam is only a lost mold. Jean-Jacques CLAUS - French Builder COSY CLASSIC - #CC1056 fpjjc@hol.fr
