Nat has the large (1-1/2 in) aluminum wemac eyeball vents which he can't recall buying and I've tried everywhere (can't even get the phone number for the company), almost literally. I know they're expensive, but they're really trick, esp. in black anodized, and the plastic ones supplied by Wicks just look, well, "cheesy" for lack of a better derogative. I may still wind up using them however... -Norm (yes, it's Balog: Bay-log, like it looks) From: Lee Devlin Subject: Re: ventilators Date: Sun, 28 May 95 16:30:38 MDT > Norm B. writes: > > >What are you going to do for ventilators? Both of them are listed as having a 7/8" holes but the aluminum ones have a round mounting flange and the plastic ones have a square flange. They both operate by twisting the knurled collar. The part numbers and costs for the aluminum ones are: SW2-100MG gray $44.63 SW2-100MB black 44.63 The part number for the plastic: 2215-1 $25.00 white only The also sell plastic 'Whisperflo' ventilators for $13.00. It has some sort of thumb-operated butterfly arrangment for adjusting the flow. Its bore diameter is 1-5/8". It is available in black or ivory. Aircraft Spruce advertises similar combinations and prices, i.e. aluminum 'airline' style (probably Wemac, no color specified) and the plastic Whisperflo available in black or ivory. They list the oriface at 1-3/4". I'm sorry if this doesn't answer your question, i.e. you need a large bore aluminum Wemac ventilator. They were abt. $75.00 each in 1989 (ouch) but are grey anodized alum and look and work well. I don't remember who was selling them, but I have seen them on several return visits. These look good, cleaned up nice, and should move a lot of air on the ground (I'm going to plug in a pair of computer CPU cooling fans in the ductwork).
