Date: Thu, 18 May 1995 17:30:26 -0400 From: SidLloyd@aol.com Subject: Torque tubes Based on an article by Ken Miller in CSA, I used taper pins in all my torque tubes instead of bolts. This virtually eliminates play in the system. I used AN386-1-10A taperpins using AN975-3 cone washers everywhere an AN3-X bolt was called for. The expensive item was the taper pin reamer. This requires about 12 sets of pins. Drill the holes a little undersized and ream to fit with a #2 taper pin reamer. I also used the AeroCad roller bearing kits. The went in easily and the system moves very easily. Sid Lloyd
